I'm playing Crysis 2 at the moment. It's a great 'first person shooter' game with very good graphics. The sound is pretty amazing too through my N5 speakers. The stereo image that you get in games seems to be much wider than it is with music. The sound somehow manages to reach right around the sides of you in a 180 degree arc. It's very easy to pinpoint the exact direction that sounds are coming from. Obviously without rear speakers it's impossible to tell the position of sounds that should be coming from behind you, but going from 5.1 to 2.1 is less of a loss than I expected.
The bass from the N5 system is a big improvement over my old 5.1 setup though. It's deep and punchy without being boomy so I can turn it up loud enough to be able physically feel the kick every time I fire a heavy machine gun. It's adds alot to a game when you can feel guns and explosions as well as hear them. ![]()

3 days to go... It looks epic! ![]()
I'm a PC gamer so I think it's best to wait for a couple of months while they patch the game and update the graphic card drivers . ![]()
Minesweeper
Whats the sound quality like through the ADM's. ![]()
Fifa 12 on the PS3. Other than that...Bejeweled blitz, Pool club, Triviador, Zumas revenge...all on Facebook.
Oh, and Wordfeud on Android (It's essentially Scrabble).

I am currently weighing it up as the PS3 is in my lounge I don't get to play whenever I want but I have a brand new 27" iMac (which I can use whenever I want) sitting there begging to be played. I haven't played anything on my PC for some time as the constant upgrading got on my nerves. But I figure that should be able to run it OK.

It has pretty low system requirements so any cheap modern PC with a half decent graphics should be able to run it fine.

Oblivion was one of my all time favourite games too (I spent several months playing it) so I'm really looking forward to Skyrim. The trailers look great.
Nice work Steve ![]()
At the moment im looking forwards to the stunning DEUX EX later tonight when my ADMs are set up. Ill write a full report!
Modern games music is usually very well produced and since games are mosters years in the making when done well it is an awesome experience. it is fully enjoyed on a great setup. On the other hand - nothing can save the awful sounding Forza 4 (blad generics shitty tracks with eeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrreeeeeeeemmmmmmnnnnnn sounding motor harshness)
I love how the Hitman series sound!
I still haven't finished Wizardry (Sirtech, Apple II version).

edit: version info added, for newbies.

Surprisingly, one of the best sounding games I ever heard is GTR2. It's not really a proper game it's more like an insainely hard ultra realistic racing simulator. The sound effects are brutal, the engine notes have a gritty realistic sound quite unlike any other driving game I've ever played. I think this is partly because real GT racing cars sound harder than any other cars in the world (IMO). They make road cars and F1 cars sound soft by comparison
I just finished Batman: Arkham City, which was brilliant, and now I'm picking up The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
It's been getting rave reviews and apparently it will take something like 200 hours to see all the content, so I'll see you guys in 2013.

Let me know what you think of it. I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist temptation and wait for a couple of months before I get it.
so many good games lined up
DEUX EX (Xbox)
FORZA4 (Xbox)
RED DEAD REDEPTION (Xbox)
Portal2 (Mac)
SKYRIM (Xbox)
GEARS3 (Xbox)
RAGE (waiting for the mac version)
And GTA V is on its way ![]()
The return of DIZZY! ![]()
Other than Fifa 12 on PS3
GT5 on PS3 (after someone on WHF pointed out it was £10 from Amazon ![]()
Hmm.. Looks like Santa dictated it will be Lego and more Lego here for the next few days. ![]()
The return of DIZZY!
The original Dizzy games were great when I was a kid playing them on my Spectrum and Amega computers. Hopefully that style of puzzle game will still appeal to young gamers today. I suspect that most kids today aren't interested is solving puzzles and would rather be shooting someone in the head with a shotgun.

Lucky you. You're never to old to play with lego.

Me too, I got a Logitech Steering wheel from Christmas so going to be all over this for the next few weeks.
Muchi Muchi Pork on my Sega Aero, the hardware is a Jamma board so the sound is mono but very well done, the stages were composed by Matsumoto and Kizacura.

Nice, I'm still struggling with the joypad. I tried it in 3D too on our new TV, but after 10 mins I get a headache! ;(
Just been playing 'Mirror's Edge' today and it's a great game. It's a First Person Free Running game with a totally original gameplay style and artwork direction it's completely unlike anything else I've ever seen. It's a few years old now so you can pick it up second hand for next to nothing too. Highly recomended.
