Topic: Input question on amp

As advised by JC I purchased a UCA222 to go from my parents pc to go to an old technics amp. Iam round there now to help them get setup and would like to quickly check which input I should put my leads to. There is a spare tape/dat or should I use the cd selection or does it not matter.

It should not matter. They are both "Line Inputs", but they may have different sensitivities - ie one may produce a louder sound at the same rotation of the volume control.

Start with volume at minimum on the amp.

Works a treat. A very happy listener here! This is his first step away from cd's and I get the feeling he is never going to look back. Big thanks to JC.

Re: Input question on amp

For best results you probably want maximum volume in the software (You using iTunes?) and adjust on the amp.

But life is too short to be fussy - keep the iTunes volume high, and make your adjustments at the top end of the software volume control.

Have you tried Internet Radio. Lots of it is very good.

Have fun.
