One For All URC 7980 remote

Got myself one of these.

I'm not a heavy remote user, but I was fed up with needing to use remotes for my TV, preamp, Squeezebox Touch, and occasionally DM 10. Although it can access (via an app) codes for thousands of devices, I used the 'magic' learning function to teach it a bunch of controls from my other remotes. I didn't need full control of any of my devices, so I didn't need to fully programme the OFA using codes.

The nice thing is that you can group devices together into an Activity. So now I just need to grab one remote to:

Turn TV on and off (it's only acting as a monitor connecting to a Mac Mini)
Play/pause and skip tracks on the Squeezebox.
Switch inputs and control volume on the preamp.

The DM 10 is only using the analogue inputs, and once set up I don't adjust the volume (using the preamp instead), so I don't need to use the AVI remote. However, I taught the OFA to perform the functions of the Avi remote, just in case I lose it!

(I noticed that the OFA online database does list AVI in the audio section, but there are no devices listed. I wonder, would it be possible for Ash to add the AVI devices/codes to the OFA database?)

The OFA was cheapish, and I didn't need the bells and whistles of the Logitech remotes, and I'm very happy with it. smile
